Terms of Use
Last updated: October 28, 2026The game
"One of Ten Thousand", operated by M&A Studio, is a fictional life simulation set against real history. Battles and historical figures are simplified and dramatized and are not a complete or exact historical account.
Paid items
All gravestones are free. Paid items are flower, wine and lamp offerings, the eternal lamp, the family plot, the high-resolution life scroll, supporter donations and expansion eras (new eras and stories). None of them affect a character's abilities, survival or stats.
The price shown on the payment page applies and includes tax. Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record through Stripe Managed Payments (sold through Link) and handles sales tax and payment support.
Expansion eras are tied to the browser used to buy them and can be restored on a new device with the payment email. Other items are tied to the gravestone, family or life they were bought for.
Refunds
Because items appear publicly as soon as payment completes, purchases are generally non-refundable. For duplicate charges, items that never appeared, or where the law requires otherwise, request a refund through Link support within 14 days of purchase (see Purchases & Refunds). We can't process refund requests by email. Stripe/Link may also handle refunds or payment disputes directly under its own policies.
Once a purchase is refunded or charged back, the related item (for example an offering at a gravestone or an expansion era) is removed automatically.
What you write
Character names and final words are public. Do not post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual, infringing, or that contains personal information. Text containing inappropriate words is masked automatically, and gravestones reported by several players are hidden automatically. We may remove inappropriate content without notice; paid items removed for this reason are not refunded.
Daily draw
Daily-draw scores are recomputed by our server from your recorded choices; scores that fail verification are not ranked. You can play as many times as you like each day; the leaderboard keeps your best run of the day. We may remove scores obtained improperly.
The same applies to the leaderboards (merit and richest today / this week, longest life today / this week): when a life ends, your recorded choices are sent to our server and recomputed. We keep only the resulting score and the character's name, era, rank and age, not the record of choices itself. Each player appears once per board, with their best life.
The service
The game is provided "as is". We try to keep it running but don't guarantee uninterrupted service or that data will never be lost, and we may change or discontinue the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA.
Language
These terms are offered in several languages. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version applies.
